Gondwana Research (GR) is an International Journal aimed to promote high quality research publications related to the origin and evolution of continents, continental assemblies and their resources, particularly on Gondwanaland and its crustal fragments. GR is an "all earth science" journal and covers a wide spectrum of topics in geosciences such as geology, geomorphology, paleontology, structure, petrology, geochemistry, stable isotopes, geochronology, economic geology, exploration geology, engineering geology, resource planning and evaluation, land use, geophysics, and environmental geology among other themes, and provides an appropriate forum to integrate studies from different disciplines and different terrains. In addition to regular articles and thematic issues, the journal invites high-profile state-of-the-art reviews on thrust area topics for its new column, 'GR FOCUS' published as opening articles in every issue starting January 2006. Short articles (within ten printed pages) for rapid publication reporting important discoveries or innovative models of global interest will be published as 'GR LETTERS'. Notes, announcements, conference reports and discussion on papers published in the journal will be published the “Gondwana Newsletter” (GNL) published along with the Journal twice every year in April and October. Articles to GNL should not exceed 2 printed pages. All contributions to GR and GNL should comply with top international standards. Substandard articles, incomplete submissions or articles of local interest will not be reviewed and will be returned to the authors. Due to the increasing impact factor and high international reputation of GR, the editorial policy has been revised recently with strict quality control. GR would encourage short and concise papers that report new data, models or ideas of global interest. Exceedingly lengthy manuscripts or those carrying data of local interest are not encouraged. Although still in its infancy, GR has a made a high reputation among the global geoscience community. It is the only Journal of its kind with no regional barrier or no limitation on geologic space and time, and covers a broad spectrum of themes in earth sciences. GR has brought out several special issues on various Gondwana and Gondwana-derived terrains including southern India, Madagascar, Brazil, Argentina, Japan, China, and on various earth processes including magmatism, metamorphism, tectonics, metallogeny, life history, paleoclimate and environment. GR has also brought out selected papers from the proceedings of international symposia. GR is the official journal of the International Association for Gondwana Research, with its fraternity of Fellows spread over 45 countries of the world. Starting January 2006, GR will be published by Elsevier on behalf of the International Association for Gondwana Research. Papers published in GR will become accessible to over 9 million researchers and 2500 institutions worldwide. All issues of GR, from Vol.1, No. 1 to the latest published issue, will be available through Elsevier’s ScienceDirect platform starting January 2006. Publication in GR would ensure that your research paper is linked to all popular search engines including science-specific search engines like SCIRUS and science navigation tools like SCOPUS. |
